Finer Wine Kit Tavola and Forte clearance sale - 5/16/2023

I guess they don't ship to Canada? It wouldn't accept my postal code to see shipping prices.

RJ Spagnols En Primeur Winery Series - Italian Amarone Style

Thanks, yes it's in the clearing process. Will add oak after racking.

RJ Spagnols En Primeur Winery Series - Italian Amarone Style

Moved wine into secondary after just over 6 weeks of EM in a sealed bucket with airlock (vodka/water filled). Tried a little taste and it's already quite delicious. Question, should I add a french oak spiral in secondary, or a wait a couple weeks and add it to a carboy during the aging process?

    Glass vs. Plastic Carboys

I'm afraid of lifting full glass carboys, so I place them in milk crates and lift the with handles. Haven't dropped one yet, but am prepared to just let go and jump away from it if they start to fall. Would rather clean up 6 gallons of wine than 6 pints of my blood.

How Much Wine Do You Drink?

1 or 2 bottles per week. Sometimes stretched over a few days, or 1 bottle on a Saturday night after putting the kiddos to bed. Last night watched a movie and polished off a bottle of pinot grigio. Had a good sleep afterwards. Wife rarely drinks with me.

Thanks! I already added 2 teaspoons. Hopefully I didn't ruin it.

Yes, sorry. I'm not sure how much tannin to add in the primary and secondary. The oak also has tannins, no?

RJ Spagnols En Primeur Winery Series - Italian Amarone Style

About a teaspoon of tannins in the primary, or more?

Added a cup of raisins, and checking out those videos. Thanks! Used Golden raisins, hope that's ok

RJ Spagnols En Primeur Winery Series - Italian Amarone Style

Makes me thirsty looking at those bottles and glass. All I could find in Canada was RJS Cellar Master Platinum amarone... Anybody know if this is similar to the RJS En Primeur amarone? It's in Primary fermentation now. Says to leave it in primary for 14 days, but stir every day or two. Came...

Used 1 tsp of k meta instead of 1/4 tsp for carboy aging

Oops, I put 1 tsp of k meta into the bottom of a 6 gal carboy before racking a kit of pinot grigio into it for aging. I thought that seemed like a lot for 1/4 tsp but it didn't click-in, turns out I used the wrong scoop in my set. Did I ruin my wine? Or should I just let it age for 6 months or a...

    Pinot grigio coloUr

Great! I won't worry about the colour, as the wine tastes better than expected. Drank a bottle last night and got slightly hammered. Seems stronger than the 12% it tested at.

    Pinot grigio coloUr

I bottled my first kit last night, a pinot grigio, which turned out to taste quite nice at 30 days. Before that, I filtered to a carboy with a buon vino mini jet. Was looking at the bottles and my wife said they look like bottles of urine. Yeah, they do. I topped up with 1.5 L of Copper moon...

Buon Vino Mini Jet Wine Filter

I bottled my first kit tonight, a pinot grigio, which turned out to taste quite nice at 30 days. Before that, I filtered to a carboy, and my buon vino mini jet wanted to jump around. Also, a bit of the drain pan was overflowing... I grabbed the closest bucket/pan I could find, a paint tray...

Was born in Vancouver and raised in the suburban outskirts. Got tired of the exploding population there, and moved out to the Fraser Valley about 6 years ago. Now it's getting overpopulated out here. Can't move further away, as my round-trip daily commute is already 3+ hours.

The kits I have came with 2 batches of each. So 60 bottles of Pinot Grigio and 60 bottles of Gew. I plan on adding only half the sweetener with the Gew on the first batch. Will adjust second batch to taste. Would it be wise to add a bit, taste, add a bit more and taste again until the way I like it?

This is probably more likely to happen, since I want to drink the odd bottle while aging the rest, and would like to have top-up wine for the next similar batch. Can I top up the Gewurztraminer carboy with the Pinot Grigio when that time comes? Would also like to have a few bottles ready at...

Hi, I've been lurking for awhile, but decided to post on here since I feel like less of a creeper that way. Currently have a Gewurtztraminer kit in Primary, and a Pinot Grigio kit in secondary, supposedly ready to be bottled next weekend. Have heard these kits taste better after aging for a...
