    Yes it is still fermenting but it is well below the neck of the bottle, where it widens out. Could take another 0. 5 of litre of liquid

    I don't understand about sg. Why do you need to take a reading to start with if you only need to make sure it's 1000 when you finish?

    Its a red bordeaux yeast if that helps... I tried putting the bucket in some boiling water in case it was too cold to get yeast going but then got worried it may get too hot so took it out again!
