Other 4.5L Demijohns or 23l Carboys? Is There a Difference

Hi Guys thanks for responding. Winemaker81, I agree with Vinny you do make a very good point and when you think it through is the logical answer. However like Vinny I doubt my palette would notice a discernible difference but hey will go the carboy route if Santa’s listening and one or two...

Other 4.5L Demijohns or 23l Carboys? Is There a Difference

I have yet to be disappointed by the results of any of the wine kits I have made, however reading through the forums it occurred to me that I may be jeopardizing the potential of my wines. After fermentation and clearing, I rack my 30 bottle wine kits into four 4.5 litre demijohns and...

    Hi From Kent, United Kingdom

I started wine making about 5 years ago when my daughter bought me a Beaverdale 6 bottle kit for my 70th birthday. I forget whether it was Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay, whatever I was amazed at the result. The wine was easily superior to the (then) £4/5 supermarket range and I soon found myself...

Other Using Novatwist Screw Caps for High End Wine Kits

Has anyone laid wine using the Novatwist Screw Caps for long periods? I use them all the time. I primarily use them for Beaverdale Wine Kits which I tend to consume within 2 years. I’m thinking of trying a high end kit, but am concerned whether the caps would be okay for bottles that may lay in...
