    Island Mist Coconut Yuzu

I can give you a pointer, but it is too late for your Coconut wine. Whenever I make a wine kit that has an F-pack, I always add about 1/3 of the F-pack at the primary fermentation. This helps so its not too sweet in the end, and will help reduce your "Flavor" so its not too strong. I do this...

Can you rack too much ?

I purchase the All in One Pump and use it for racking and degassing. Since it is so easy to use, I have also used it when adding an F-pack and then racked back and forth a few times for mixing purposes. I want to be sure I am degassing enough, but don't want to over due it. It isn't much more...

WineXpert Where is the expiration date ?

I have read a bit about using the WE kits before they are out of date, but where do you find the expiration date? There are some numbers that don't make much sense on the sticker....is that it and you need to decipher it? If so, that doesn't help much when you are shopping and trying to...

    Well water for wine question

Thanks so much for the replies !! I think I will try my first batch directly from my well and see how it goes. I live in Alaska and our well water is some of the best (and coldest!) water I have ever had. I think I will change out my paper filter and use it straight from the well. Thanks...

    Well water for wine question

Thanks for the reply Scooter68 ! The water was checked when we bought the house, like 12 years ago. But, I don't remember anything about the results. What exactly would I be looking for in the results of a quality check? Thanks !!!

    3 gallon batch in a 6 gallon carboy ??

Hello, Another newbie question here. Can I make a 3 gallon batch of wine in a 6 gallon carboy, and 7.8 gallon first ferment bucket? I know you should keep the headspace at a minimum, but is this acceptable or too much? Should I search for a 3 gallon carboy instead of using what I have...

    Well water for wine question

Hello, I am new to making wine at home, so I am doing a lot of reading to get up to speed. I first read that well water is not good to use, as it can be hard with lots of unwanted minerals in it. I then read "if it tastes good to drink, it will make good wine". I think our well water...
