RJS Cru International Meritage (Canadian Okanagan)

Tasted my batch prior to bottling and thought it was lacking something, so I went ahead and added the conditioning pack. After adding the pack and tasting again, it didn't seem to add much in the way of sweetness, but definitely had a better mouthfeel, IMHO. Conditioning pack also seemed to...

RJ Spagnols RJS Restricted Quantities 2018

Has anyone else made the Reisling? I just bottled mine this last weekend. It tastes fruity but overly acidic. I added the fpac up front and am now second guessing that move. A little sweetness would likely balance that out. Hoping it will improve significantly with age.

RJ Spagnols The chase begins.... 2019 RQ

Eyeing the Nebbiolo and the red blend. I was hoping that at least one of the reds would have the wet grape pack vs. dried. The wine kits I have made with wet grape packs generally turn out a little better. Anyone else have thoughts on dried vs. wet grapes?

WineXpert Italian Pink Pinot Grigio by Winexpert

Ah, I misspoke, actually made the sauv blanc rose that came with the f-pac. I added the entire f-pack up front but ended up backsweetening because it didn't taste balanced. The end result was fantastic

WineXpert Italian Pink Pinot Grigio by Winexpert

This is a new limited edition kit to replace the cab sauv rose from last year. I made that one and it was excellent. Will be ordering this one also.

They all look good to me. If I had to choose one would probably be the tempranillo. Does anyone know what to expect for pricing? Similar to EP?

    when good wines gone bad

Looks great! In your experience, what's the cutoff for cutting kits down to 5G? Is it 10L? I'm about to start a RJS Malbec style 12L kit (10L juice, 2L dried grapeskins). Was planning on making to 6G, adding currants, tannin, extra oak, capitulating, but this has me re-thinking the...

WineXpert New Limited Release: Eclipse Nocturnal Wine Making Kit With Grape Skins

This kit sounds very interesting. I'm on board with the GSM, but hesitant about the cinsault. Anyone have an idea of % cinsault? I recently had a pinotage (pinot noir x cinsault) that was way too smokey for me - almost tasted like scotch.

    WineXpert California Sauvignon Blanc Rosé

Happy 4th of July weekend folks! Just wanted to post an update on my kit. I added the entire f-pac up front and capitulated. SG was 1.090. Followed steps in kit, fermented to 0.994, cleared, degassed, etc. Tasted the wine at that point and was a little too dry, didn't taste balanced. Ended...

Other Master Vitner Kits - What's your experience?

Thanks for all the great suggestions Jim & Ron. I'll try decanting on the next bottle. I won't be bottling anything that hasn't been properly degassed or aged for future batches...lesson learned!
