Broken Ankle and the All in One

Just wanted to give a shout-out to the All in One. I recently broke my ankle a few months ago and have been putting off filtering and bottling my last years Chilean wine i have in the basement. I have 24 gallons in demi and carboys. I also have another 24 gallons from this year in another...

    Why are my bottles breaking?

Speaking of bottles, I just bought a couple cases of the green Bordeaux style and they have no punt. Is that a big deal?

    Backsweetening Questions

Thanks for all the advise.... Ok, the other day i backsweetened the Chardonnay to just about under 1.000. I then chilled it to how the wife likes to drink it. She liked it but wanted to add apricot flavoring because she read her wine she likes has hints of apricot to it...I added half bottle of...

    Backsweetening Questions

Thanks, sounds good! I am going to use a simple syrup. The wine conditioner is old anyway. I also just realized my sorbate is about 1.5 years old. Should i get a fresh jar or do you think i will be ok? Thanks again!

    Backsweetening Questions

Im getting ready to bottle my wifes Chardonnay. I have 6 gallons and i have to backsweeten it to get it to her liking. Right now the sg is at 0.994 and i want to go to about 1.000 or a bit less. 1.000 is the sg of the commercial chardonnay she likes to drink. Is that amount of sweetening...

    Floaties

I'm really not sure how long its been there, have not really look at it for at least a month. Its like cream colored specks. I also used a paper towel and got most out before racking. It was mushy and really had no bad odor to it. Kinda looked like maybe leftover yeast, malo culture, or...

    Floaties

Went down to check on my wine and i saw some weird substance floating on top of a 6 gallon carboy of Carmenere and also in a jug of Merlot. Very little in my demi john of Merlot. Ive have had on oak spirals for about 9 weeks and also did malo on this years batch. I used a turkey baster to get...

    Paper Chromatography Test

I just finished racking after malo completing. My Carmenere taste pretty good so far but im a little worried about the merlot. I know its early but Its kinda harsh right now.. Im aging now with oak spirals...

Im starting to rack this years Chilean, just finished mlf. I have a 6 gallon Carmenere , a 14 gallon Demi john and 4 gallon better bottle of Merlot to do to start bulk aging. Yesterday I bottled a 5 gallon Merlot left from last year to make some room. Used all in one to rack and bottle...

    Topping up?

I tasted them both today in fact.... The one that has been going through mlf and i believe is complete, taste pretty darn good for being only 3.5 months old. I will be racking soon, adding oak and bulk aging. The non-mlf one from last year taste pretty darn good too but seems like it has more...

    Topping up?

I have a Chilean Merlot in a demi john that i wanted to top up. I have read here to top up with a similar wine. My wine in the demi has gone through MALO but the wine from last year, also a merlot, did not. Is it ok to top up the wine that has gone through Malo with a wine that has not? Thanks.

    Glass Beads For Topping

I have used marbles with no problem. I have several better bottles so there is no risk of cracking the carboy when dropping them in. However, i have also used them in my glass carboys with no problem either. Just put them in a bit carefully and slower. Oh, and i also purchased a couple head...

    Paper Chromatography Test

Ok. Thanks. Oh, and i forgot to mention that i still see very tiny bubbles at the service rim of the wine and some tiny bubbles still rising up through the wine. However, im thinking it could be from degassing? Also, i just gave the Merlot a taste and pretty good for being this young!

    Paper Chromatography Test

Here is my latest test i did yesterday on my Chilean juice from this year. It looks very close to being done , if not done already. I see a very very faint yellow on all the samples. Since this is my first time with mlf im not sure when to know its complete. Should there be NO yellow at all or...

    REVIEW: *allinonewinepump*

I just racked a 6 gallon batch of Chardonnay using the all in one. I went from a 6 gallon better bottle to a 6.5 glass to degas. I then went back to the better bottle using the plastic carboy transfer kit. I then wanted to degas a bit more so i repeated the process. The transfers went without...

    botteling systems

I totally agree! The all in one is great for bottling, and more! I just purchased one myself recently. However, if you don't want to invest the extra $ right now the bottling bucket made with a wine bucket and an inexpensive spigot with a piece of tube and bottling wand also works very well...
