    Hey guys! I started my skeeter pee on Feb 6. Tonight I racked again, added the rest of the lemon juice and back sweetened. The original recipe says the let it sit for another 2 weeks, but I tried it, and man it is GOOD!! I only added 3cups of sugar to my batch, I don't like really sweet...

    What's in your glass tonight?

    Last night my hubby "tried" my new shiraz. after making it through 2 bottles he was feeling no pain. He was slow moving this AM... I keep telling him, that you can't drink wine like a beer. His first couple tastes, he said it was an 8 out of 10, but by the second bottle it was a 10. lol

    I can definetley see how it would go much faster with the warmer weather! My SG last night was .994, so I racked to secondary:) I have degassed, and added clearing agents etc. Now more waiting, I might have to get a batch of dragon blood going....:)

    I used ec1118.my temp is 75f. I'm not sure why so long either but its is now.998. I want to wait it out to get a little lower before racking.

    Original Skeeter Pee Recipe

    Update: Day 12 of fermentation- my SG is 1.020. I had added the yeast energizer and nutrient, along with a bottle of Lemon juice on day 8. Slowly moving, but going for sure. When I checked it today, it was foaming quite a bit, nice white foam.

    I bottled one of my 6 gallon batches of Shiraz last night. Everything went great, and minimal sediment. I didn't notice any at all at the bottom of the carboy when I was done. The other I will bottle Sunday or Monday. So exciting to have made my own wine... And I drank probably a full bottle...

    Racking reds....Don't you all find this hard? I have racked from primary, to secondary to bulk aging to racking again before bottling. I may have to rack even again before bottling.     Option 1, I'd say it would be good to have a variety of sizes for carboys. Kinda wish I had some. In time... Plus, this option , you get to sample your wine as you go.
