Looking for a Muscadine Grape recipe

Mine are golden in color. My father in law planted them about 30 years ago and we inherited the vines with the property a few years ago. I think I have about 6 gallon ziplock full of them in the freezer right now.

Looking for a Muscadine Grape recipe

I have a bunch of muscadine grapes in the freezer from last years crop. I don't have equipment to do PH testing so is there a recipe that I can use?? I like a semi-sweet to sweet wine like the Duplin winery does with their Muscadines.

    Sweet Tea Wine

I think the problem with mine is, I got it too sweet and it overpowers the wines true flavors. I make make another batch and leave it dry and just do good old fashion half and half!

    Other Tweeking Cheap Kits

Okay so I'm staring at an Island Mist Coconut Yuzu Kit that I bought just because it really sounded good and I love coconut. I've never made a kit wine. I've done mostly fruit wines, squeezing the fruit bags in the primary. I've never made an all juice kit and I'm not really sure what tweeks...

Thanks I'll check it out before I get started. We moved in March and I've been living in a construction zone since. Now that thinks are settling down some, I'm itching to make some wine. All I need to do is find a little bit of space for my brew bucket!!

    What is your age?

Oh, and I've,been making wine a little over a year. It started last year as a distraction because my husband had cancer, now it's an obsession! They were able to remove the kidney and my husband came out of it just fine!

I actually added more pectic enzyme to it a while back hoping that was what it was. I now have it "chilling" in the garage. I'm hoping that will shock it enough to clear it. We shall see!

Well, I live in South Carolina so cold isn't something we do well. It has been cool the last few nights. I'll move it into the garage tonight and see if that helps. It will get below 60 degrees in the garage tonight.

Yours looks pretty much like mine and I have added Super Kleer! Mine has been sitting for about 2 months now. I've even racked it again! I really wish it would clear! I'll follow any advise you get!

    DangerDave's Dragon Blood Wine

I personally found that I like my Dragon Blood after it has been bottled for about 6 months. It was good but not great to me at the start. I'm now running low because it has moved on to great!

Took your advise and added .8 oz Md French Roast oak, .4 oz dried Elderberries and 1/5 of a vanilla bean. I'm gonna check it in a week and see how it's going!

    DangerDave's Dragon Blood Wine

Welcome to the thread! Tons of great info on here! I am just finishing Jericurl's Christmas variant of the DB now and I am far from experienced in wine making! I've only be making wine for a year myself! I'm sure someone on here will give you a great suggest. I really haven't worked much with...

    DangerDave's Dragon Blood Wine

Okay I went to my local wine store and he had everything you recommended! My question is, I've never worked with vanilla beans before. Will one vanilla bean be too much for just a gallon of wine if you usually use one vanilla bean in a 5-6 gallon batch? I'm new to working with the spices and...
