    WineXpert Winexpert whites

I have always had great success with Winexperts higher end white kits. I make Private Reserve Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc on a regular rotation and they always turn out really good. I always swap out the yeast for QA23 Lalvin Yeast and add the zest of grapefruit to all in the...

    WineXpert Winexpert Revelation

I opted out of making this kit. In the end, it was just to expensive.

    WineXpert Winexpert Revelation

My thoughts exactly! I exclusively make Winexpext and RJS high end kits, but I thought this was a bit pricey. I have to admit, it's still on my radar. I'm considering making a double batch. I'm just curious what others think.

Has anyone purchased this kit, and if so, what are you thoughts on it? I know it's to soon to comment on the taste, but what are your thoughts on the kit and contents?

RJ Spagnols RJS Cru Sauvignon Blanc Kit - Tweaks?

Delicious! That's my go to now for this kit or any Sauvignon Blanc I make.

RJ Spagnols RJS Cru Sauvignon Blanc Kit - Tweaks?

I made it many times. I swap out the yeast and add the zest of 1 grapefruit.

    Other RQ and LE sale!

I just bottled that one as well, but didn't try it yet. You can't go wrong with any of the Winexpert or RJS limited addition wines. I've been making both for years.

    Other RQ and LE sale!

Thanks! I picked up 2 Petit Verdots. I just bottled 2 batches I made last year, and it's really good.

    WineXpert Winexpert Moscato Aging Question

My starting SG was right around 1.090 after adding extra sugar and white raisins.

    Spiced apple wine

I add 3-4 cinnamon sticks to a 6 gallon carboy here.

    Aging in carboy

I normally bottle my whites around the 3 month mark as long as they are clear. I would dose it k-meta too. I add it to all my wines before bottling.

    Aging in carboy

    That is correct!

    Aging in carboy

You might also want to consider picking up a few of these. I use these in all my carboys when bulk aging. No worries of your air lock drying out over time when using these. https://morewinemaking.com/products/breathable-bung-glass-carboys-cellarscience.html

    Aging in carboy

Yes you can! I do it all the time. After racking a few times hit it with a 1/4 teaspoon of K-meta every 3 months and you're good to go until bottling time. I usually age all my reds a year or so before bottling.

    Fermentation heat belt recommendations?

Toss a cheap aquarium heater in your must. That's what I have been using for decades.
  19. jumby

    Heaters

I have made 100's of batches this way over decades with no ill effects

    Heaters

Any aquarium heater will work. Tropical fish thrive at the same temperatures as yeast. Most heaters are preset at 76 degrees or you can buy one that you can set yourself. I never snap down the lid during fermentation. I loosely place the lid on the fermenter and cover it with a towel. There's...
