O I found it.....most of it was pre issue, price related. Not much on making the wine and learning curves......just trying to keep it going. Streams have a way of petering out......

Has anyone started this kit? What are you learning? I just racked my second batch of Eclipse Mosel Riesling to secondary. The first batch is down to three- four bottles, was very well received. This new red kit has double yeast and other of other features that suggest higher alcohol levels...

IMHO adding Cab Franc and Petit Syrah will make a big difference and add layers of flavor and aroma.....this combo is well worth your extra effort.

I am not giving up yet but do need to find some real varietal aromas and flavors soon in the reds I have made. Looking back on the last year I made 16 kits, 13 of them reds in a big range, at this point they all taste more or less the same, with only minor differences. I am hopeful that aging...

I guess I started this particular thread..... I have no doubt there is KT. I am now at a year with several of my big reds and it, KT, is still there, with or without sorbate. I am now working with barrels and it improves but does not eliminates KT. I have barrel tasted several young...

Has anyone made these? What do we think about them. Seem to good to be true.......

I have two in my cellar, one signed by Antinori....I couldn't agree more! I brought back the new 2012. It may liberate one of the 2005's for imbibing.

Meca......Col Solare Well we are back from our vino vacation in Wash. st.. Wine makers conference in Portland was great, and loved the Columbia River Gorge. The real high point was visiting, touring and tasting at Col Solare vineyard in the new Red Mountain AVA. Will post photos......

Thanks, most helpful. It takes allot of sugar to move the needle. How long would you wait on a grape pack kit to get actual impact on SG? 24-48? Do you think 1.086 at 24 hrs. is low for this kit and wine?
