Trying to find out how others are cleaning, specifically drying, their hose that has the vacuum release and the red and blue ends. Do you remove the hoses from the vacuum release? If you don't, how are you getting this to dry?

I racked my Dragonblood off the lees tonight and sweetened with sugar. I stirred the heck out of it to mix the sugar in. My questions are:
1. Should I fill up the carboy with a white Riesling that I have on hand?
2. Should it still taste kind of sparkly? There were no bubbles at all prior...
Anyone backsweeten their Dragonblood with berry concentrate and sugar? I was thinking of warming them on the stove together, cooling that and then using it to backsweeten. I was thinking it might impart more berry flavor?

I am finally getting around to trying my first attempt at Dragonsblood. It will be interesting as I am working in a pretty cool climate.
First question, when you test the SG, do you dump the liquid from the tube back into the primary or just toss it?
