Is it worth it to filter wine?

I filter both reds and whites but am really considering to just do whites in the future.

    Plastic Leaching?

No expert but I use hot water with PBW and have for years without issue. Thinking that theory is a bit of a stretch.

    New guy here

Welcome, I too started with beer and turned to an addict when I found how easy wine was. I make more wine then beer at this point even despite being enrolled in a craft beer program.

I guess to each his own. I soak my corks and have for years without issue.

    WineXpert LE 15 Barbara

Started mine on the 15th and reconstituted the yeast with wine yeast nutrients. Still bubbling away actively.

    Finished chocolate salted caramel

I did the brandy on a chocolate/cherry last year. I've been eyeballing this kit and think I'll try the everclear this time.

WineXpert Eclipse Sonoma Dry Creek Valley Chardonnay

Sorry, it's a really good chard but for some reason I'm fonder of the Selections Australian Chard which luckily for me is cheaper.

Good point. Guess I didn't think it thru mathematically

Wow, as I sit waiting for shipping info on this kit I'm jealous that people have it already. I have been running most of my reds thru a new Hungarian oak barrel the wife got me but not sure for some reason if I want to do that with this one. I know not all reds really get improved or need...

WineXpert My year old Lodi Ranch 11 Cab vs:

I have about two thirds of my Lodi Cab left and at just over two years old it's outstanding! I really need to get another batch going as I've been using this for making a awesome braised short rib recipe I have. I should probably make a cheaper Cab to keep on hand for cooking. Any suggestions?

RJ Spagnols Seasonal release RJS Tjungu kit

I didn't pull the trigger on this kit but since it was just released I don't think there would be much feedback on it yet.

Other Cider house select apple cider making kit

I have made the spiced apple and apple. As stated you have to watch it opening the bag to avoid a big mess. These kits are drinkable but sort of watery for my taste. If I was to make one again I would definitely make some changes but not sure what. I'm sure some here have some great ideas.

    What's in your glass tonight?

RJS Winery Series Super Tuscan just over two years old now. I know it's been said many times here but what an outstanding kit!
