    PH after adding mlf

I am posting this for a friend from our local wine making club. He added MLF to his Italian juice 4 months ago. 6 gallons each of Amarone, Nebbiolo, and Brunello. The PH then was about 3.3 on all 3 of them and has risen to 4-4.1 now on them all. The ph is higher than he wants to store...

    Marquette Bud Freeze Damages

Sorry Been busy with spring,, I prune most vines at the middle to end of March here in Wisconsin and wait until now or a week ago to do my Marquette, It seems to help. I believe it stuns them for a week or 2 longer and pushes bud break back. I have no real evidence on this myself except that...

    What's for Dinner?

No pics but my in-laws picked watercress from the spring at the farm on Saturday. They shared some with us. So we had watercress salad tonight with bacon and onions and homemade vinaigrette. We should have picked more. Only enough for a meal for 4 tonight.

    Marquette Bud Freeze Damages

Yes they can break early from what I have seen in the past. Nothing of note this year. I usually wait and prune them later than the rest.

    WI First Planting Help

I personally have not had a lot of problems with critters. My father in law has many young vines eaten to the ground every year from deer. As far as getting started I agree with the above. I tilled out the rows and sprayed several times that first couple years. now it almost takes care of...
