    Anyone tried this before?

Sounds like an excellent opportunity to experiment. I would definitely rinse them with some potassium metbisulfate solution first, but for your next batch I would leave some bottles without, some with 1 or 2 grapes and some with a big handful. If there are no ill effects, I could see some...

I'm having a "duh" moment... help with measuring SG and alcohol?

Oops. That's what I get for relaying in the first internet site I look at:o . If 1 cup = 8 oz then 17 cups = 8lbs 8oz which will give you an OG of 1.078

I'm having a "duh" moment... help with measuring SG and alcohol?

I think it would be about 1.068 I used this free online recipe builder for beer: http://hbd.org/cgi-bin/recipator/recipator I just entered in 7lb 7oz (7oz = 1cup) of cane sugar for a 5 gallon batch and that's the original gravity it calculated. Someone else may have better calculations, but...

    Volume Error

I started my second batch of wine a few weeks ago. It's a Wine Expert Vintners Reserve Riesling kit. I made up the must in my bucket and had an OG of 1.088 (~12% potential alcohol). I let it ferment to about 1.002 then transfered to my 6 gallon glass carboy. Upon finishing the transfer, I...

    Wine on Tap

I've been brewing beer for a few years now, so when I thought about making wine one of the first things that I wondered was if I could conceivably put a keg of wine on tap in my keggorator. The only way I could imagine that it would work is by adding just a little shot of CO2 to get just enough...
