    Crown Gall

Well, I'm Back! I have been in California finishing my career and now am back in my vines in Utah. I have a big problem with crown gall in my Baco's. I've lost at least half of them and the bacteria seems to be creeping into the vineyard. I know only what I read on the internet, and that's...

    Blessing on the vines.

Burnt my prunings and had my own blessing on the vines. Few friends came over, and we drank some wine from the grapes the prunings produced! It was a first. Hope there are many more!

    Adding Acid.

Ok. How do you add tartaric acid to wine, without it precipitating right back out.

    Seyval ready to bottle?

I have ten gallons of Seyval that is just finishing cold stabilization. Nice layer of wine diamonds in the bottom of the carboy. It seems to have a slight protein haze. Should I just filter and bottle, or let it sit another month. It tastes wonderful, but haven't done any testing yet.

A full month ahead of schedule

Here in Utah grapes budding on the first day of spring is Crazy! 20 days earlier than last year, and at least 30 days ahead from when they should! No frost in the forecast, here's to hoping.

Honey bees good or bad for the vineyard?

    Leaf all curled.

Thought this was heat stress, but it won't go away with the new growth. Is this a disease?

Baco Noir and Seyval Blanc in Utah

Just planted 26 Baco's and 24 Seyval Blancs here in Utah. No life yet, and now I'm worrying about water. I drowned the he$l out of them when I planted last week. I flood irrigate. They look good. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
