Started my mead today. 5 gallons of filtered water 13# of honey SG at 1.085. Added 3pounds of white sugar brought SG up to 1.100. 1/4tsp kmeta. Will add yeast lalvin ec-1118 tomorrow. Since just discovered I'm out of D47.
Mead been stuck at 1.055 to 1.040 for a week OG was 1.095 . Needs to get to .989 Looked up info says to add 3tbs energiser and nutrient to jumpstart ferm. That sound right ?
Other that that its tasting wonderful the blackberry is super racked it last night with another 6 gallons in the bucked...
Pretty new to wine making about a year now with my dad. From E/Tx N/La area.Just racked my first Mead its tasting awesome. Look to be some good people on this forum. Hope we can learn from one another .
