Anyone see anything announced on what the new Winexpert Kits are going to be. I see they have a few brands replacing all of their current brands, but I can't see what the kits in each will be.

Agree, in fact I've found that the brandy never makes it better. I use Grain. It has no flavor profile, and leaves the ports to taste like the flavor they're supposed to be. Black Forest, Toasted Caramel, Coffee, Vanilla Fig all are very good. Probably in that order for me.

Definitely I'm going to do the Tempranillo, always wanted to make one and have only seen it in the RQ series in a blend, never a straight one.

I know its the Spagnols thread, but this spring I made the Winexpert Mosel Valley Gewurz, really like it a lot. Where the Spagnols ones had lemon and grapefruit notes, the Winexpert has more peach and mango notes followed by the spice.

Merlot finished fermenting, racked, oaking tube for a couple weeks. Actually think its better than the cab at the same point. Cab is in the barrel, Merlot goes in when cab comes out. Blending should be right around New Years or so.

Just started drinking mine at 2 years. Thought the Super Tuscan Winery Series was the best kit I made, now I'm debating. Have a ST that will be 2 years in Sept, I'm going to put them head to head in some taste tests and see what others think. This GE will go into my normal cycle now.

Cab fermented. I only make the high end kits, this one is very good. It will turn out to be a very nice wine. Waiting on the Merlot. Then when both are finished, blending day!

No, none of the Fpack, only add that at the end. I had a pack of the goopy grape stuff from a Super Tuscan kit. If I can get the alcohol up to 17 or 18% before Grain added, I won't need to add as much Grain to get it to 20 or 21%. Always...

Had a half of a grape goop pack decided one week into fermenting to dump that in as well. See how high I can get the alcohol before the Grain

I use grain alcohol. I tested with both brandy and grain. Found the brandy modified the flavor. Made the black forest port last year. Vanilla Fig this year. Started mine last night.

I think the company releases them in Dec to wholesalers, who ship them in starting in Jan. Could be Dec 30th and Jan 2.....
