I'm with you on that. Riesling is quickly becoming one of my favorite whites. I like mine dry though, which is why I put in half the f pack during fermentation.

Definitely will. It's been in clearing for about 5 days, so it still has some time before bottling, but I'll keep you posted. I'm excited to try this one.

Sorbate went in at clearing when the rest of the F pack was added.

I just did the En Primeur Riesling/Gewurz, and I put probably a little over half of the F pack into primary, and stored the other half in the fridge until required. It came with 2 sorbate packs, and I only added 1 of them. Will see how it turns out, because I like mine more dry as well. If...

    Polysorbate or no?

ok thanks John. I always skip sorbate with reds. Just wasn't 100% sure about whites. Makes sense about the F-pack

    6 gallon carboys...wtf??

Man, that's a bummer. That's a lot of extra wine needed for topping up! Wish they would get it right.

    Polysorbate or no?

Oops! I meant Potassium Sorbate. Not sure where I even got the term polysorbate from :slp

    6 gallon carboys...wtf??

Lately I've noticed I've had to top up my carboys with several bottles of wine to get it filled up into the neck, and also that after bottling 30 bottles, there is quite a bit of wine left. So, tonight I carefully measured out exactly 6 gallons of water and poured it into 2 different 6 gallon...

    RJ Spagnols Riesling Tweak Suggestions

Just out of curiosity, did you leave the sorbate out? I always leave it out of reds, but wasn't sure if I should leave it out of an off-dry white or not.

    RJ Spagnols Riesling Tweak Suggestions

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I think I'm going to leave this one as-is, and let it be the benchmark to compare to for any future versions of this kit that I tweak.

    RJ Spagnols Riesling Tweak Suggestions

Yes, thanks for that information. My En Primeur Riesling/Gewurztraminer has been in primary for 4 days now. Would you guys recommend adding grapefruit rind?

    RJ Spagnols Riesling Tweak Suggestions

Okay, thank you. That's what I figured. I didn't think there is really much need to stir a white very often during primary.

    RJ Spagnols Riesling Tweak Suggestions

I know this kit has been done for quite a while, but I'm curious how ofter, if at all, did you stir your must during primary?

    Trying to decide

We bought the EP Riesling/Gewurztraminer kit tonight :db Can't wait to start this one. I am very intrigued with Brian55's recommendation to add the F-pac during primary to keep it from being too sweet. Has anyone else tried this? Or has anyone tried the this kit, just following the...
