    Wild Plum Wine

I made 6 gallons of Wild Plum wine. 3 lbs per gallon. 18 lbs for 6 gallon batch. In the carboy for 3 months. I tasted it today and the flavor is not bad but it is a bit thin. Is it too late to something to give it more body. I was thinking of Plum Smart.

    Other Chocolate Wine?

Somewhere back in this forum, there are some posts for chocolate strawberry wine! I think by "Cornfield"! At least a year ago. Haven't seen any posts by Cornfield lately but maybe This will help. Maybe you can do a search! Good luck. I just noticed this is your first visit to our forum and you...

    WineXpert Winexpert quality control

I think I can see why George no longer carries Winexpert! The last 2 kits I purchased from a local wine store were lacking ingredients! One was lacking the F-Bag and the last one didn't have any yeast package. Not a big thing but it makes you wonder about their quality control!

    Back Sweetening

How late in the process can you back sweeten? I have Cherry Pomegranate bulk aging for about 6 months. It is still too sour for our taste. Can it still be back sweetened?

    Seedless Grapes

I have a chance to get seedless grapes (red, green and purple) from the local Super Market. They are in very good shape, most of them being edible. Are they any good for wine? Any good recipies?

    Apple Raspberry Rhubarb

This a wine that I doubt if I can duplicate and that is too bad since it is a pretty good wine. July 2008 I bottled a rhubarb wine that was made with just a hint of allspice. After a year, I thought it was pretty good but it appeared I was the only one who thought so! SWMBO didn't care for it so...

    Fertilizer for grapes

How much does fertilizer affect the taste of grapes? I talked to someone who raises worms and sells the worm castings (feces) for organic fertilizer> He says the castings can completely change the flavor of grapes and also change the taste of the wine. Plausible????????

    Different Problem

For me anyway! I made Apple-Raspberry wine and it was bottled in October 2009. A couple of days ago, I caught theodorof fresh apple raspberry. I thought "OH NO"not again! I discovered 2 bottles had popped the corks. I checked my records and I had added the proper amt of sorbate and had degassed...

I tried to post pictures on the original post but wasn't able to do so. Thisis the Pineapple White Grape that overflowed in the primary. I added the sorbate and will now let it bulk age.

    WOW! (Again0

My pretty strawberry rhubarb wine had to go down the drain!! It got so I was afraid to walk by my wine rack because every time I went into the basement wine room, another bottle of it had exploded! I got tired of mopping the floor. I finally looked back at my wine logs and discovered that I...

    WOW

Tuesday is my wife's birthday and Wednesday is our 58th Wedding anniversary. One of my strawberry rhubarb wine bottles celebrated early with a bang. Blew it's cork and squirted half a bottle of wine out onto the basement floor! Luckily it is a sealed and painted floor so it wasn't hard to...

What kind of grapes are these

These are growing in my friend's garden and he has never harvested them! I can have them all and there is about enough for a 6 gallon batch. I kind of think they are concord. They have a suttle wild grape flavor and are off sweet. They are growing about 15 miles south of Lake Superior in...
