    Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

My sons started talking about peanut butter chocolate chip cookies yesterday and all I could think of while riding my bike today was those cookies. So after a short 25 miler I tossed these together. Easy and fast and I'll bet they don't last the night!

    A month of tastings

This month I've decided to tasted a different wine/mead every day. I'll try and post here because this way I can cheat and not have to try and find the original thread because its most likely buried somewhere since a lot of these are a few years old. Today I'll post 2. One from last night and...

    Wine from Juice

I did the wine from grape thing a couple of years ago. It was fun but hard work because I really don't have the right equipment and the drive is to far to rent so everything was done by hand. So this year we decided to try the juice and some grapes for hubby to dehydrate. 1 Chianti...

    Good Morning!

This morning as I was putting on my cycling shoes I heard a thump on my car and when I looked up this guy was watching me. He made sure the bike was alright to ride as well.

    After a week of rain

The skies have cleared, sort of ....... so we decided to spend some time on the water. We started off kayaking through the mangroves in Fred Howard Park and opened it up to the Gulf not very crowded today, kinda surprising since last weekend was a wash out and this is the 4th of July weekend.

Cellar Craft 2010 CC LR Tannat

Bottled, Labled, and put to bed. A little early for me, but it'll sit in the bottle for a couple of years before I decide to open even the split. I have a bit left over that we'll be sharing with a couple of friends on Saturday, can't wait because I didn't taste any when I bottled this one.

If you don't like it put it away.......

The owner of Redstone Meadery said this on a podcast once or twice and truer words have never been spoken. Last year we opened a bottle of a 2007 tropical fruit mel my son and I made with the fruit left over from his HS graduation party. The mel was thin and not much in the way of aroma, taste...

    RJ Spagnols Orange Chocolate Port

Yesterday we had a wonderful time visiting some dear friends. The end of the day was spent enjoying the absolutely beautiful evening sitting on the porch overlooking a nice quiet lake and sharing a glass of this really amazing Orange Chocolate Port that I made in 2008. I must say after all this...

    Sweet Chocolate Cherry Mel

I don't know if many of you are aware of chocolate covered cherry day on January 3rd. But as a joke 2 years ago I decided to make something to celebrate the day. Yes this did involve more experimenting on my part and on Monday it has finally been bottled after only 2 years of aging. I plan on...

    New Year Wines

With 2010 coming to a close in 2 weeks, what wines, meads, beers and such are on the horizon for everyone? I have a tradition of making a wine or mead on New Years Day (before football) and hubby will usually make a porter that will not be ready till the following year. This year I will be...

    Santa's Christmas Cheer

Time and patience really pays off! I saw this recipe on another forum and it looked so promising I had to try. I started this mel in 2007 and bottled it a year later. At the time, taste testing was not very impressive and all the flavors were at war with each other. I opened a bottle last year...

    Peach Mead

Time to clean out the pantry again and while looking around I discovered a can of Oregon Peach, Dark Muscavado Sugar, Cinnamon Sticks and some extra Orange Blossom Honey. I decided they needed to be made into something and since my son's been asking for some peach cobbler I thought a mead style...

    Blueberry-Pomegranate

Been a while since I started a new wine. So I went into the magic closet that holds all my ingredients and the jars of blueberry & pomegranate were begging to become wine. So I decided to grant their wish. Pretty Color Take off - Happy Yeast!
