Is this to much head space for secondary

Going to depend on who you ask. I’ve read many statements about head space. I tend to lean towards the amount of ‘open’ or exposed l head space. If you have sealed head space without the presence of oxygen, I’d say it doesn’t matter. If you’ve just opened your carboy/container, whatever that...

Pretty corking with a hand corker

It also gives you a little more sealing safety. I use shrink tops on all of my bottles.

Corks not going into bottle all the way

And to you folks, especially new WM out there, be careful with those hand corkers. That’s what I started with almost 10 years ago. After about four bottles shattering (randomly), the loss of wine, and fear of cutting myself, I quickly went to a floor corker.

    synthetic corks

Synthetic corks will give you trouble with extended aging. They really like to bond to the bottle. As me how I know.

Ha! Can’t back up more than a few feet with it all hooked up, but if needed, it doesn’t take but about 30 secs to disconnect the Jeep.

    What R you doing today?

After a busy day at the office (home office), just chilling in the back yard, sipping a glass of Pinot Grigio. As posted in “what’s in your glass” thread.

    What's in your glass tonight?

A super clear Pinot Grigio in a glass that’s fogged due to chilled wine and hot/humid temps outside. But it’s still wonderful.

Glad they are creating that many jobs, but that thing is hideous. Looks like a Chinese knockoff to the Deloreon (sp). Even if it pulls, can it stop?

Where to buy cheap wine bottle

You can also go to local restaurants that sell lots of wine. Many will even save their bottles for you. I did this when I first got started. Have to soak bottles to get labels off, but they were free. Olive Garden saved me a bunch.
