    Forgot to stir :-(

    So I bottled my first beer yesterday. I boiled the corn sugar and threw it in the bottling bucket. Then I gravity racked my beer into it. The I bottled. Definitely forgot to stir it all up. Do you think the simple syrup is so heavy that I didn't really get any mixing?

    RJ Spagnols SG way too low!

    Just started my Washington Merlot. Finished it up and SG was only 1.082. Kit's are supposed to start between 1.095 and 1.110. I called RJ but no answer. Pretty disappointed considering it is my most expensive kit and the only one I've had the sg off. Any thoughts?

    I just got my RJ CC Washington Merlot in. It's the most expensive kit I've bought so far. I was curious how you guys make your kits better? Any deviations from the directions or hints. Since I won't really be able to try it until next year I want to make it the best I can.

    Is there any reason to buy a 5 gallon carboy? I got a bunch of 6 gallon carboys and I want to make some beer. I figure the 6 gallon would give you some extra head space for the foam. pros and cons? Thanks, Jason

    Crap. Aspirator arrived without collection jar

    Just got my aspirator. The description said one collection jar. Didn't come. I don't think I would want to use it without a collection jar. I'd be bummed if I got some liquid in the pump and messed it up. Any ideas?

    Transporting wine.

    Sorry for the double post. I couldn't find anything on this either. I'm planning on moving again in 14 months. As far as transporting wine goes it really shouldn't be a big deal should it? All the wine in the stores has to be transported. Any pitfalls? Thanks

    Degassing again

    I made a riesling about a month ago. It's been clearing for weeks now and hasn't really cleared. I don't think I degassed well enough. I get my new aspirator in the mail today or tomorrow. Can I rack the wine over and degas with the aspirator? Or will that mess something up?

    Aspirator with wine filter

    Does anyone know a product that does this. I just got an aspirator off of ebay for 45 bucks. The cheapest minijet I've seen is about 180. Seems to me if I could have the filter media there is no reason to buy the minijet. Anyone got some jerry rigged setup?
