    Wine kits on sale

I've used the cheap and mid-price kits that are great for tweaking. I just noticed them offering the higher end kits which I have not tried, but wound't hesitate to try them.

Post a Meme, any Meme! (no politics)

@hounddawg said “was i happy about round bales” Yes. Big round bales showed up once we were off to College and no longer available to help put up the square ones. Must say the rack wasn’t bad, but the hay mow could be hot 🥵!

    What's for Dinner?

Wasn't looking forward to this meal to be honest, but Mrs. khristyjeff's General Tso's Cauliflower was very tasty.

    Yeast Nutrients

@Johnd I've got an Amarone bucket started 10/13, divided into 2 fermenters, and pitched BMX 4x4 (nutrient hog) in one and 71B (14% alcohol tolerance) in the other. I was getting a little odor out of the 71B bucket 5 days later so added Fermaid K which seemed to help. On Oct. 22, after they...

    Other Tweeking Cheap Kits

@RocketBee I did the Currants with the WL Malbec and blackberries in a Fontana Merlot 11.5%. We like both very much. Not sure if I can pick a favorite at this point. They change over time also, so at first the one with currants was my clear favorite then the blackberry one "caught up." I now...

    WineXpert Stuck Ferment

I would try increasing the temperature first to see if that gets it going. If that doesn't work then you can try making a yeast starter (can't remember who exactly, but a regular poster lists his steps for making one).

Live virtual wine tasting event for the home winemaker - Last Day to Register Wednesday 11/24

This is a great idea, @NorCal. Thanks for arranging it. I'm signed up.

if you haven't already, check out the thread "Tweaking Cheap Kits" on this forum. Many, me included, have taken lower ABV wine kits and raised the ABV by reducing the volume from 6 gallon to 5 or 5.5 gallons. Generally you may add tannins and an f-pac to get the wine in balance. We've made...

@LenoreFrost , If you wouldn't mind posting pictures of you current and possible available space for winemaking/aging/storing, I'll bet you'd get a lot of good ideas from others on the forum. Just a thought. Safety first!

Ugh. Blueberry wine at 2.9 PH

Here's our recent blueberry experience I hope you find helpful. It would suggest that your plan to wait 6-9 months is a good one. I started a Blueberry from pure juice from Walker's Juice on 3/7/21. Brix 21, acid 0.87 and SG 1.0875. This wine tasted tart even when we bottled, although had...

    Other Tweeking Cheap Kits

Hi David. Thanks for the idea. I'm going to have to research cold pressed coffee in general, because it sounds like something my wife and I would really like. Can it be warmed once it's cold brewed or does that defeat the purpose?

HELP I dropped a do I clean the concrete floor?

Same as @cmason1957 here. All in one pump to transfer and save my back. Then I use little dolly carts from Harbor Freight plus some home made ones to move the carboys around my basement. I only lift empty carboys. Here’s the small dolly: 18 In. x 12 In. 1000 lb. Capacity Hardwood Dolly
