So you insist on drinking your kit wine early . . .

Aerators were once described to me as "having the ability to turn a $13 bottle of wine into a $16 bottle."

    What R you doing today?

TeamViewer is used for Remote Access of another computer - I used it for accessing my dad's when he (occasionally) yelled help. And it was the mouse pointer that was moving around on the screen, all by itself just exploring things. Not a pleasant thing to see when taking those first sips of...

    Cottonwood Arizona Observations (so far)

A little late here, but congrats! Love the view - and yes, building would have been a LOT of work for you, even with a contractor doing it all.

    What R you doing today?

Long story made short: Woke up last August 28 to find my mouse moving and a copy of TeamViewer opened on my computer. I'd definitely been hacked. Older versions of TV do have a vulnerability that can be exploited, even if it's not running - so beware. I shut down everything and haven't had it...

    "Flor quality corks," really?

Thank goodness for Amazon's return policy! These folks will save you some $ https://labelpeelers.com/nomacorc-9-x-1-1-2-corks-100-ct/ I'd stick to 100 corks to start unless you're planning on bottling 500+ in the first year.

+1 for the Weber.... Tossed the ~20 year old one when we moved, and the new one now has ~5 years on it. Replaced the gratings on the original one at ~15 years.

The necessity of storing corked bottles on their side a busted myth?

The one thing that will really ruin your day is buying a 5 year old bottle of wine that has been stored upright, only to find the cork has dried out and crumbles upon opening. The wine won't be so good.

    Winexpert LE18 thoughts?

I did my Fumé Blanc, pretty well following the instructions. I suck at record-keeping, so not sure if the kit included oak or not. I'd attribute George's amber color to the wine being exposed to oak for that period of time. Mine's also a golden yellow.
