How much extra to make 1 gallon?

I haven't the faintest idea why. I was recommended to try it way back last century and have been doing it ever since. It just seems to help my wine clear quicker. Having said that, too many bananas would definitely add to the taste! I never add skins!

Is that an eye for an eye or tit for tat?

How much extra to make 1 gallon?

I usually boil Bananas and just add the "Gravy", but either way works. One or two in the recipe are not really noticeable, but I find that they add a small amount of body, and they do seem to help the wine to clear. To me, they are not noticeable but my CEO (Wife) always finds it. Maybe, she's...

How to process Elderflowers after they have been picked. Over the years, I've tried different ways of removing the flowers from the stalks. This year, I'm just snipping the flowers from the stalks with scissors. It's a quick way to do it, but you do miss a few flowers, and you do get a few small...

    Good news for Anchor Brewing

Problem is that people with good salaries tend to forget that without the Unions, they wouldn't be getting good salaries, even if they don't belong to a Union. PM Margaret Thatcher convinced lots of younger people that Unions were evil, even to the extent of offering cash to the workers in the...

Totally messed up - can I recover?

Ha-Ha! Stop making me laugh. Age is how you feel, not a number. My Son in law is a 72-year-old American. He recently went back to Upper Heyford, where he was stationed until 1992. The joy on his face as he saw the place he served and the memories they brought back was a wonderful thing to see...

    Hello from Germany

Hi, and welcome back. Contact Luc Volders on [email protected]. Luc lives in the Netherlands, which is reasonably close to you. He is very well-informed and all his pages on his website are in Dutch and English. I'm sure he can come up with a supplier closer to you than the UK. Anyway, a...
  15. W Make your own wine remotely.

Our winemaking club shut down several years back. By coincidence, I met the same couple in the supermarket a few weeks ago. 'Are you still making wine?' I asked them. 'Why bother, it's easier to pop a couple of bottles in the trolley' they replied. Ah well, it takes all sorts. As they say where...

It's not a scam? It's not even something new. A couple in our old wine club joined a similar scheme years ago, they even went and picked their own grapes, but as Mainshipfred said it was very expensive just to get their name on not very special wine. After they received their first wine, they...

81 is right! If you like drier styles of wine, add your sugar in small amounts. Often if you catch it at that magic moment when the flavour, and acid suit your taste, you might not even notice the added sugar.
