    Used wine bottles

I do the very hot water soak and scrape with a metal scraper to get the label itself off. Then for the residual adhesive I use "Fast Orange" citrus based hand cleaner and slather it over where the adhesive is. Let is set for, oh I don't know, maybe 5 or 10 minutes max, then use an SOS pad and it...

    Logging and Documenting

I started using a spiral notebook and it just got to be a mess with changing items, misspelling, forgetting to input info, not being able to read my own chicken scratching, etc. I now just use "Notes" on my IPhone. I list the name and year of the wine as the title, the ingredients then start a...

    Okay...ideas as to what happened?

Bernard, Thank you for the reply. I agree it seems as though some type of chemical reaction is going on but exactly what it is and how to combat it in the future is what’s bugging me. It may very well be acid related. At the present time I don’t have any way to test the PH of my wine. It’s...

    Okay...ideas as to what happened?

Hi all, Ok so I just finished a gallon batch of Rose Petal wine per one of Jack Keller's recipes online. Everything went great. I let it clear on it's own for a few months and it was beautiful Rose' color. I racked off of the very fine sediment into a sterilized 1 gal jug and then added 1...
