kEEPING MUSCADINE ROOTED CUTTINGS
The best way to over winter rooted Muscadine cuttings is to keep them in a shaded cold frame. That way the temp. does not fluctuate too much and the temp. doesn't go much below freezing.
I have a small Muscadine propagation business and last winter I put all...
Agri Supply
I too got my Wire-vise tensioners and wire there, great quality and price. I wish that I had found them earlier!!!

There are a few good suppliers of Muscadine vines and some you must stay away from like TY TY. They have a great Website but a very bad reputation. The biggest and the best one is Ison's. I too propagate and sell vines at www.MuscadinesAndMore.com
I would be happy to answer any questions that...
I would adjust the PH to about 6.5, ad a little sulfur around each vine, no more than 1/4 cup/ vine. Then recheck the PH a few weeks later. How often do you fertilize and what do you fertilize with?

I know it is a bit early, but due to the extremely cold winter I lost about 20% of my muscadine vines. They just didn't like the 4 degree nights.
Any one have any ideas as to what one can do to insulate the vines incase we get another cold winter next year?
My idea is to bubble wrap the trunks...
I'm glad your muscadines made it this last winter. In my neck of the woods, Dalton Ga. it got down to 2 deg. and I lost about 20% of my vines. I was lucky though I had plenty of young vines that I propagated so that I can replace them.

I also used Wire-Vise tensioners, love them, easy to use and cheap. You can get them at Agri Supply including the 12.5 high tensile wire , both at a good price. Check them out at www.AgriSupply.com.
Good luck.

I found a new way to fasten the wire to the end posts using a quick end that only cost about $1.43 each. I used this new device to attach 14 wires to my newly expanded vineyard section. It took less that an hour to attach all 14 wires. I admit they were very short runs of only 25' but the device...
More problems,
Yesterday I installed double 2x4 cross bars at the top of my 14 end posts since I will be running 4 cordons from each vine. Every 4” post was some what loose even though I taped the soil around each post. Every couple of days it’s been raining here. The soil around each post...
Just found a good video on youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkhz1RY0cY8 How to Set a Corner Post WITHOUT Concrete! some great ideas.
I will try it.

You should not have any problems as long as they are dormant. It will probably stunt their growth the first year or two, but in the long run they should be fine.
