    Oak chips quantity

I’m back on the forum after a move to north Georgia. I purchased 2 juice buckets this past week and want to add oak chips during aging. I have a Merlot and an Amarone fermenting and need advice on quantity of chips. It will be American oak light toasted. I am reading anywhere from 1 ounce to 4...

    Cleaning Glass Carboys

I made a similar cleaning device with a polybutylene sink supply line and cloth, but the cloth keeps winding around the supply tubing. I now just use dawn dishwasher liquid and swirl it around the Carboy.

    Bottle filling from tap

I did it that way before I got my Allinone. I put a 3" piece of tubing on my bottling wand then attached it to the valve. Then just slide the bottle up the wand. The punted bottles are a pain, but otherwise it works good. Note: the valve needs to be taken off and cleaned often too.

Sorry, I said I was going to enter, but I started a new job November 27 and I haven't had time to do much of anything. Congratulations to all metal winners.

    What's for Dinner?

Christmas Day was a turkey breast on the egg. Christmas Eve was low country oyster roast with shrimp 3 ways.

I know you're enjoying having him home. My son is home from college and requested steak, ribs, shrimp, and oysters while he's home! It will be done.

    What R you doing today?

A new adventure unfolds. Two weeks ago, I retired from Ga Dept of Corrections after 30 years of service. I've enjoyed my 2 week retirement [emoji3] and will be starting another full time job tomorrow morning. Completely different work with all new people. Let's see what happens.

Blueberry Wine HELP - Stuck Ferm or NOT?

I would add some nutrient first and stir 2 or 3 times a day. A nutrient boost at that stage sometimes does wonders.

    An Irma prayer

We got through it ok. Wind gusts were recorded by my neighbors weather station at 68 mph. We got over 6" rain (my gauge only holds 6") Lots of debris down, but no trees on my place. We lost power for a day and a half. Last year's Matthew was worse for us.
