Vineco Something I don't Understand Again..

ok the instructions say if the s.g is at .995 that fermentation is complete, but this is just the 12th day! I guess i still have to go thru the whole process with the instructions right? Will the s.g still continue to go down further?

GRRRRRRR.another guy with a bung in the wine..

so how does a beginner know when its been degassed if its still making bubbles when its agitated. If the fermentation lock is not resting on the stem doesn't it mean that theres still CO2 in the wine? I do see different size of bubbles like some of you mention and i see the same kinds of bubbles...

GRRRRRRR.another guy with a bung in the wine..

i'm degassing with a fizz x and a hand vacuum pump and also shaking the carboy. Its a cabernet sauvignon kit and it says to degass for 5 days and everytime i shake the carboy theres always gas and it says i shouldn't move to the clearing stage until all gas is gone

    Question about SG.

Wade- the instructions that came with this kit didn't even say anything about a starting SG, it only mentions to take an SG reading at day 17, and now that you mention about carboys not being accurate, the instructions that came with the kit said to fill the carboy and then empty the carboy...
