Well all 18 zinfandel vines made it through the winter and look really good so far. Ran a second wire for the shoots coming out and cleaned up the trunks yesterday.

A little change of pace from regular Saturday night steak / potato dinner. Seared scallops with a browned butter and lemon pan sauce. No worries, fat ribeye tomorrow.

We camped at Alamo lake state park over the holiday and I managed to shoot a couple of pics 13 hours apart on Wednesday.

End of the first season for my Zinfandel vines. Cropped regularly of all shoots and fruit to concentrate on the primary cordons. All 18 seem healthy and leaves are starting to change color so it's time for them to sleep for the winter soon. Come on Spring!

Looking forward to following along and seeing how your mini vineyard developes. I put in 18 5 gal. Zinfandel vines in the spring and they had a great first year of growth. Similar Elevation though slightly cooler region up here in the Verde Valley. Best of luck to you Tim.

I've entered this a number of times with results varying from less than an honorable mention, in my first attempt, (equal to a participation trophy) to a number of golds. Haven't entered since moving out of CA but decided to send in 4 wines today.
