    Solvent like yes! Varnish, nail polish very distinct in smell and taste, undrinkable for sure!

    I have made different wines on and off for several years. I had the last 4 wines ( various types) oxidize. I dumped 3 and just checked a zinfandel that's been aging and it smell like varnish. I had it topped off and added marbles so there was no head space. Can someone tell me what I anm doing...

    Why do you top off a carboy? I have several wines in 5 & 6 gallon carboys or plastics buckets and the vary in volume. one may be 3 gallon others 4. Will I have a problem?

    I would like to try making 5 gallons of Japanese sake. I was surfing and it seems like the recipes are all over the place. Can anyone give me a recipe and instructions to follow and it appears that there is a difference between sake and rice wine. Is there? John

    Hi everyone. Purchased a Buon Vino mini jet filter today and filtered 5 gallons of peach-watermelon i made from fruit. It dripped from 2 of the hoses. Thought I had it hooked up wrong, checked youtube and every video had paper towels and towels under the filter. Do these thing leak a little? John

    Hi everyone. Two weeks ago I bottled 5 gal. of tomato wine. It was clear I thought. I used sparkloid. I tried it last night and now seems to have more bite than before and it has a definate haze to it. I did not sweeten because my wife and I didn't think that it needed it. The ph was good...
