    Vine Protector Input

Thank you for all your input. I used the Blue X grow tubes last year until the temperature and humidity got high. I'm most concerned about the potential for very high humidity now in my second year (I'm in NE Tennessee) and possible mold/fungus on the vine trunk. I have the vineyard fenced for...

    Vine Protector Input

Hi Everyone. I've purchase these vine protectors for my 260 Enchantment vines that I planted last year. I spray the rows with glufosinate for weed control, and I get paranoid every time I spray (or trim with string trimmer) worried about overspray or damage on the vine trunk. My first thought...

Hello Vern. Which model of Stihl do you use? I presume you use the 430. I see 3 variations. SR200 or SR430 look like the best options for me. https://www.stihlusa.com/products/sprayers/backpack-sprayers/ Thanks

Thanks Vern. Stihl does not have any particle size info, only output volume calculations. I will try the Stihl unit in the spring.

I've reached out to Stihl to see if they have any particle size data. I suspect it will depend on the viscosity of the fluid being sprayed though. I hope they have some data for the mosquito spray that can be used as a baseline comparison.

Thanks Chuck. I replied on my phone, but it does not appear to have gone through. Yes, the weight might be a challenge, but for my 260 vines it might be ok. I'm interested to know if the mist particle size is appropriate for a fungicide spray vs the commercial vineyard sprayers. Thanks again.

Resurrecting an old thread here. Has anyone tried using one of these as an air blast sprayer? This appears to be more practical size for my small vineyard. 3.7 Gal Turbo Boosted Backpack Mosquito Fogger Leaf Blower for Pest Control

Thank you very much. Would you mind sharing your preventative spray protocol? I might add, these are new vines that I planted in April of this year. Thanks again.

    Disease Identification Advice Please

Thanks Dustyfj and Cynewulf. The picture in my post was prior to spraying with Captan. I contacted our local UT Ag rep and he suggested that it is probably black rot. I sprayed Mancozeb on Friday to stop any additional fungal growth. The vines had been very vigorous until we had a lot of...

    Disease Identification Advice Please

Good Morning All I have a small vineyard in East Tennessee planted with Enchantment grapes. I selected this variety for it's disease resistance. I have vines with this coloration that is spreading. I presume it is fungus related due to our recent rains and humidity. I sprayed Captan...
