    Where'd I go wrong

Oct. of last year I pressed some apples and peaches from our trees in the backyard, enough to fill up two carboys. I did the camden tablet and added some yeast. Nov. last year I transferred to new carboy and they have been sitting in the basement ever since. I pulled them both out this weekend...

    1st time peach

I picked a whole bunch of peaches off our tree over the weekend and pitted and quartered them. I then built a press for them and juiced the peaches. I ended up with just under 3 gallons of juice. I transferred into a 3 gallon carboy and added 3 campden tablets to the juice. I crushed the tablets...

    How long?

Thanks for all the help. The temps have been up and down with highs from 60-80 and lows dropping down into the 30-50. I am actually seeing some green on my tramenettes but I'm still not seeing anything on the edelweiss. I don't beleive they have died due to them still being a little flexible. I...

    How long?

2 weeks ago today I planted 8 vines I received from Double a vineyards website. How long before I start to see growth, or something green peeking out. Should I be worried?

    A few vines in Kearns

I finally got a few vines in the ground over the weekend. That was a lot more work than I had envisioned. Now its a wait and see process. I keep telling myself "4 more years".

    Dirt prep.

Out here in my neck of the high desert, the gound I will be planting in is a combo of rock and clay with a little road base mixed in. Would I benefit by tilling the ground and removing the majority of the rock, which is the main ingredient in my dirt, and adding some compost, top soil, and sand...

    more questions

Istead of wood should I go with a chain link fence post or is there something else that would be better for the trellis.

    more questions

I ordered my vines today and they will be here towards the end of April. Do you build the trelis before you plant the vines or wait until they are planted. I was going to use 4x4 pressure treated post and cement them in the ground. Can I plant all 4 vines on one stretch or do I need to add...

    newbie questions

I have narrowed it down to a 2 varieties of grapes they are Edelweiss and Traminette variety. I live in SLC UTAH and had questions about the heat for these grapes. Everything I see concerns the cold but what about the 3 months every summer were the temp is in the mid to upper 90's with little or...
