Please help: Cloudy dark and liquor- like wine issue.

Just so everyone knows, the superkleer worked like a charm. My wine went over very well and everyone loved it. Perfect for Christmas! Thank you to those who suggested it as you saved my wine! I just thougth I'd mention that this resolved the issue in case anyone else ever experiences this. I did...

The juice was red/ normal looking. Like a grape juice with warm bubbles lol.

So my question now is which is best? Pectin enzyme, superkleer, or sulfite? I've had all 3 suggested in this post to seemingly do the same thing. Thanks for all of your help in trying to save my wine. A lot of effort went into harvesting, researching, and mashing grapes etc. I'm hoping to save...

The grapes were red. I used gulligan jugs (like what you'd use in a beer store on the tap).. I didn't end up stopping fermentation as it was mentioned once it reaches a normal temp after removing from refrigeration, it could restart in the bottles.

I'm going to try and answer everyone's questions here. Thanks for the help. I used red grapes fresh picked. I boiled them with sugar and mashed them as if making a jam and strained out the juice leaving out any stems or skins. It was bottled in jugs but the recipe called for no racking until...

YEs that was an accident. Sorry I'm a newbie. I thought I was posting in a forum beforehand and didn't mean to inbox anyone. lol

Each gallon is in a separate container. I have 3 gallon containers left. The other probably has too much air in it now and will have to be pitched. 1/4 of the whole 3 gallon batch or 1/4 of each gallon? I don't think they sale that locally but maybe I can order online. So this will clear it and...

My recipe didn't call for waiting for the yeast to ferment before moving to a new airtight vessel. I went straight to the new vessel. No those aren't what I fermented in. I poured it in there the day I had planned on bottling. Those are just to show how dark and cloudy it is. Those are from the...

Please help: Cloudy dark and liquor- like wine issue.

I am having an issue with my wine. First off it's way too strong (doesn't even taste like wine. It would be ok if it were strong and fruity or strong and sweet), perhaps a bit vinegary. To me it's vodka-like but muddy looking. My husband and a freind think it tastes vinegary. It also has almost...

Should I stop fermentation? Should I bottle?

What I was referring to was actually the gas produced by the yeast eating the sugar and the yeast dying thus not inflating the balloons anymore with gas. The sweetener I'm referring to is the sugarless sweetener someone mentioned before in another comment, not real sugar lol.

Should I stop fermentation? Should I bottle?

Yes I hate to say the postassium sorbate article leads me to not want to add it. I'm not shooting for a ton of additives just a tasty unspoiled sweet wine! I will take the advice on a sweetener/syrup though. Thanks.

Should I stop fermentation? Should I bottle?

Thank you all so much. I did not know the yeast would become active again after it warmed back up or the best method to sweeten afterwards. I bought a hydrometer from my local wine store but it didn’t work. I will just let it run it’s course and run out of gas and then I suppose I’ll...
