    Limoncello, take 2

The template was downloaded off of Avery for Word. It's pretty useless and doesn't fit the labels exactly, at least not with my printer (HP ENVY Photo). Tweaked it a bit. I make the designs in Publisher, save as some graphic file or PDF, copy and paste into the Word template. The labels are...

    Limoncello, take 2

Thanks for that - decent shipping (better than my usual sources, though with the price of the bottles, probably a wash).

    Limoncello, take 2

Thanks Mike. I make the labels in Publisher and copy them to a template in Word. I’ve pretty much standardized on Avery 94215 photo glossy labels for convenience. And I spend WAY too much time on 1001fonts.com...

    Limoncello, take 2

Our limoncello went into bottles today. 151 EC, 5 pounds of lemons zested and peeled (some of each - my daughter zested, I peeled, ended up something like 16 lemons in five pounds), started with 1325 mL of alcohol. Sat on the zest for 49 days. Cut to 60 proof, netted just over eight 375 mL...

    Old school Dandelion Wine

Hey Dizz - Chaptalization is the word for adding sugar to increase the finished alcohol content in wine. I have no idea on the boiling, though. Have never made, or drunk, dandelion wine... Scott

Source for 30X60BVS/BVP 30mm screw-top bottles for use with Novatwist?

Hi all - I've searched and can't find an answer: I want to bottle some upcoming wines with Novatwist caps, and they require 30mm screw-top (30X60BVS/BVP) finish bottles. My usual sources are all 28mm. Anyone have any sources for the oddball size? Thanks! Scott

FF: Two three-packs of Buon Vino Super Jet #3 Fine filters

Hi all - I ended up buying Super Jet filters when I meant to order Mini Jet filters, so I have two 3-packs of #3/Fine filters. Free for postage. I have no use for them, figured someone here might. They'll go in either a smallish box or a padded envelope. Thanks, Scott

    Fortifying blueberry to a port?

Proof-wise it's the same as what we get for Everclear locally. However, I am NOT the one to ask - vodka is not my thing. Maybe someone else here can advise on the flavor profile with a really strong vodka?

    Fortifying blueberry to a port?

Hi Izzy - Thanks! I usually do all the label and bottle design myself, but my daughter generally advises (or at least approves) on the capsules. I like the cobalt bottles, but haven't found the right wine to put in them. The blueberry port would be a good one! Scott

    Fortifying blueberry to a port?

Dawg, I may be interpreting it wrong, but I thought the rules against discussion of shine is aimed at production. What Dizzy is talking about is a brand, commercially produced product. Not sure those rules apply. Dizzy, I used Everclear to fortify. I detected no harshness in the final wine...
