It was bang on 1.010 tonight so I'll rack it to the carboy tomorrow. That should have it close to 1.000. Did a taste of a couple drops left in the wine thief... I can't wait for it to be ready to drink, I think it'll be quite good.
Ok, cool thanks. With my fruit wine I've been waiting until fermentation is done before the 1st racking, and I was concerned about the volcano. Unless it slows down a lot between last night and tomorrow, it should be close to1.010 if not lower.
Hello Folks,
I'm working on my first actual Kit. It's an RQ Cab Sav kit. I'm pretty much ready for stage 2 which is rack to carboy at 1.020 until below .998. Step 3 mentions racking and attaching a bung and airlock, but step 2 doesn't mention the airlock. Am I correct in assuming that I just...
Excellent thanks. I'm hoping they have a shiraz for 2022. I was thinking of getting the 2021 Syrah if funds are available. Hmm, doesn't look like they have an RQ Syrah this year. Perhaps next year.
I preordered the 2021 cab kit a few months ago, just picked it up today. I've never done a kit before, it's all[ been fresh, so itll be a whole new experience. Is there a suggested minimum aging time after bottling?
I went through Avery labels and ordered 40 of their water resistant wine labels.

I couldn't be happier with the final result and I would use avery again in a heartbeat.
I made a batch of dragons blood, which is very good. I can't wait to make it again with different fruit. I'm in the process of doing up my crab apple wine again and I was thinking of the process of the DB. Is it a good practice to press all the fruit in mesh bags while stirring even if it's not...
I was wondering what people feel are the necessary accessories for the AIO pump? I'm looking to order one in the near future and would like to get parts that would be deemed a necessity at the same time. I'm not doing massive amounts of wine at a time. 6 gallons at a time a few times a year...
Picked the crab apples last night, doubled my harverst from last year. (Because this year i knew what to expect a bit more) Still have a 3rd of the tree left, but can't get to the top... We got 65#.
