This is my small home vineyard. I have been migrating from hybrid grapes to vinifera grapes over the last few years. Eventually all varieties will be changed over. Each year I attempt to convert one row of nine vines, learning as I go about grafting and other vineyard skills.
I am almost complete with the comversion as of 2012. Now I need to decide if I keep the Marquette or change them over to Syrah. I have some Marquette in the bottle aging. The decision will depend on the quality of the wine.

September 19th, 2012 I picked the Cabernet on the 17th. Came in at 23 Brix. Berries looked really good and fermenting grapes smell and taste wonderful. I have just one more to pick - Norton. It's getting a good long hang time. I expect to pick them this weekend.
Spring 2013 I will have the last of the vineyard turned over to the new varieties. I have removed the Marquette and will replace them with Merlot and a few more Zinfandel. I have decided not to put in the Syrah because of it's early maturity. I think it would ripen too quickly to develop well.

Thanks for adding. Did you try uploading multiple photos or just the single one?

I'm just curious about what kind of wine you were going after with the marquette? My experience in the Midwest is that a dry is very difficult but can be rewarding; while it makes a beautiful sweet with less work. Something to
keep in mind since you have a good crop for your dries, it might be worth it to perfect a sweet with the marquette(everyone needs one during the year)

@Winehaus
I've not liked the wine from the Marquette much and this year I pulled them out and have orders in for some Merlot and Zinfandel to fill out the vineyard. Since I have good luck with the two types of Cabs I have, I
believe the Merlot will give me added blending to round out my wines.
