Continuing on in my quest to see all the 2015 Oscar nominated movies for Best Picture award. Watched this last night for our Valentines evening movie. I was (a bit) hesitant knowing the premise for the movie. All I can say is WOW!
Totally blown away with this picture. For anyone not knowing the synopsis is:
"Andrew is a 19-year-old music conservatory student who is determined to become a great jazz drummer. His talent and fierce passion draw the attention of the school's most intimidating teacher, Terence Fletcher, who believes that students excel not through praise and encouragement, but through relentless humiliation and fear."
J.K Simmons should have been nominated for lead actor for this role. At least he was nominated for supporting actor and he should win (easily) What a powerful performance from this man who you probably known better for his Farmers Insurance commercials or quirky fatherly figure roles in movies like "Juno"
