WineXpert Kit wine concern

Started making the Coastal red kit. In secondary right now and all seems to be OK. However, my wife wanted to use the box it came shipped in for gift packaging. When she was removing the packing paper she asked why the bottom was wet with wine stain??? I went and checked the kit box itself and sure enough there is signs of a leak on the bottom. I never noticed this when starting kit a couple of weeks ago and even washing bag with water??? Do you think it will be safe to consume???

I would say absolutely since you didn't notice it on the bag. There probably was a leak from another box when shipped and it leaked over onto your box and several others.

As Dan said, it could have very well been the box above, below or beside your kit that was leaking on the pallet when it was shipped. If you did not notice any leaks from your bag, I wouldn't worry too much and continue on.

I'd keep Winexperts support number close, in the rare chance that something was wrong. I've heard they are great to take care of their customers.
