    Recommend a Good Vacuum Pump

I'm not able to find that unit on Amazon. But that is what I'm looking for. I have all the parts from an all-in-one setup but the pump is failing so I want to find something stronger/better.

    Recommend a Good Vacuum Pump

Can anyone recommend a decent vacuum pump that doesn't break the bank? Need to replace one that went bad and don't want the same thing.

    Cork Frustration

I'll give them a call. I like finding good places to do business.

    Cork Frustration

I've considered it, but 1000 would take me over 8 years with the amount I make every year now.

    Cork Frustration

These corks aren’t getting very good reviews, and not just with More Wine. I like the concept how they’re made but not sure. Thanks for sharing that.

    Cork Frustration

I've been on Carolina Wine Supply, I don't think the small bags are their Select cork, just the same as the 1 1/2" you find everywhere, just longer. I might try what @winemaker81 said and see if they are willing to package smaller on some corks.

    Cork Frustration

I really want to use a 1 3/4" cork, either Nomacorc or Diam would be great, but I'd like them to be chamfered. Unless you're commercial winery or you just make a lot of wine, buying in bags of 1000 just isn't practical. It seems like the industry doesn't care about home wine makers and they...

    cork life

Where are you buying the DIAM corks? I've only been able to find them in 1000 count. I'd prefer in bags of 100.

    Corks?

https://carolinawinesupply.com/products/nomacorc-select-green-500-bag-of-1000?_pos=2&_sid=b45d90611&_ss=r I've been wanting to get these myself, but a bag of 1000 is just too many. Haven't found anyone to split an order.

Finer Wine Kit Finer Wine Kits

I want to try one of the new sangiovese kits they have available for ordering. Any suggestions on going with the straight sangiovese or one of the blends? Having trouble deciding.

Finer Wine Kit Finer Wines - Cab Zin Forte or Zin Forte?

I bottled the Sonoma Forte several months ago and was very pleased with the wine. One of my favorites so far with FWK.

    Decision on Fresh Italian Juice

So, it's sounding like these juice buckets aren't really a step above getting FWK wine kits. I do enjoy those and I've been happy with the ones I've made. My intent, to clarify a little more, is to take the quality up a notch or two, or three :) above a kit. I've looked at Brehm Vinyard...

    Decision on Fresh Italian Juice

I don't really have access to grape skins other than what I could order from FWK. Would those work or without fresh skins or crushed grapes would it be better to abandon this idea? Anyone with experience using the Mosto Bello juice and did you add skins or anything else?

    Decision on Fresh Italian Juice

I'm moving up to fresh juice from kits as I want to give that a try. Orders at a local supply has opened for the Mosto Bello Italian juices. I have a couple questions if some people with experience with this could chime in. How did the wine turn out? Is it the next best thing to crushing...

    PH Adjustment Advice Needed

I can't get any tartaric acid here until Tuesday so it looks like I'll be adjusting PH at the end of fermentation. Hopefully it'll be okay. I thought I had tartaric acid but only citric. Must have run out at some point and forgotten.

    PH Adjustment Advice Needed

Yes, red grapes. So fermenting with ph a little high shouldn’t be a problem then. Good to know.

    PH Adjustment Advice Needed

I started preparing a red today and got a starter going as well. After I reached the SG and volume I checked the PH. I'm at 4.0. I don't have anything other than citric acid or lemon juice to adjust the PH. Do I leave it and ferment, adjusting at the end of fermentation or try to adjust with...

Offered a job as a winemaker, but at a price...

FWIW, I've always gone by the saying ... "Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life". Sounds like you're pursuing something you love doing. If you can make a living out of it, you can't ask for much more. I hope it turns out better than you imagined. (And you can put me...
