Expert or no, I really appreciate your input and thoughts on those options! I particularly like the idea of laying down the tops, maybe not for eventual use as a cordon but just to protect it as you mentioned, and then I'll let it keep growing as much as possible for this season. Thanks again...

The Sauv Blanc in the World Vineyard label is really really good considering going it's a 'non premium' kit. I've made that one 3 times now. In about 6-9 months it's terrific. Favorite of family and friends as well.
