    Mosti Mondiale Fresh Juice/Re-freeze

I have access to a large cooler. Would refrigerating them for a few weeks be a better option than refreezing?

    Mosti Mondiale Fresh Juice/Re-freeze

If I order several of the fresh juice kits is it possible to refreeze some of them upon receipt so I can make them one at a time? James

    Vinebrite Filtering

The reds I have been trying to filter are the MM LE kits. The instructions say not to add fining agents if bulk aging. I put these kits "on the bench" for 3 months and then proceeded with the fining agents, etc. I'm using about a 3/8 dia. tube to syphon with-it fits directly on the filter...

    Vinebrite Filtering

I purchased a Vinebrite filter earlier in the year. I'm just starting to use it on the MM Limited Edition kits I started in Jan. and Feb. My wine appears to be clear but I filter about 1/3 of the carboy and it justquits. I assume i am stopping up the pad. Is that normal? Do ya'll normally...

    Mosti Mondiale LaBodega/Filtering

Is there any reason the LaBodega Port should not be filtered before bottling? I have never filtered but I have wanted to start for some time. The MM Amarone kit directions recommend it (filtering)but it is not mentioned in the LaBodega directions. I didn't know if the addition of the F pack had...

Are potassium meta and sodium meta completely interchangable in wine making and sanitizing? James

    Poem

I've always enjoyed the quotes that many of you have at the bottom of your posts ("Adopt the pace of nature..."). I received a book for Christmas, "Wine Accross America", a photographic road trip by Charles O'Rear. I ran accross this poem that I thought was particularly good. Back of this Wine...

    WINE AGING SUPPORT GROUP

My name is James and I have a problem. Most of the questions I've posted on this forum have been about kit wine and how to make it better, what ever it takes. then what did i do?I drank ever thing I made before it was six months old. I'm weak. But I've turned over a new leaf and I'm aging...

    2008 bottling

I would love to be part of an exchange. However, most of my wine needs to age another six months. I'm the only person I know in my area that's doing this soI have no chance to compare my efforts with the efforts of others. A swap sounds fun.

    Mosti Mondiale Dry White recommendation

I honestly have not picked up on kt with the whites. I have with the reds but I do agree with others that it will age out. I'm steadly doing reds but I'm determined to age them a year. I have been doing the more expensive kits and will probably at least stick with kits that are all juice...

    Mosti Mondiale Dry White recommendation

Jack, I've been in search of the perfect white (at least perfect for my tastes). To date, the best white I've done is the WE Italian Verodicchio. This may have been a LE kit as I don't see it on FVW's list. I personally want a light, crisp, dry white wine and I have yet to find what I want. The...

    Kit WineTesting

I'm sure if I needed to be doing certain tests on the kit wine I've been making then these tests would be part of the instructions. However, I amcurious if testing sulfite levels before bottlling to get it just right is a good idea? There seem to be variables on the addition of k meta depending...

    Mosti Mondiale I'm excited!!

In south Alabama, you know you're a redneck if you met your wife at a family reunion. Or at least that's what they say.

    Mosti Mondiale MM Port

Thanks for the advice - I'll be careful. I'm interested in making the best product possible or I would'nt be doing all the work involved and buying the best kits I can afford. I also think it's part of the fun of the whole process to try something different. As long as it's not dangerous then...

    Mosti Mondiale MM Port

Just racked MMport to secondary. Starting SG was an impressive 1.102. I left it in the primary about a day and a half too long. Directions say transfer at 1.02 or less I didn't get to it til SG was 1.004. Secondary ferm. is still moderately active so I guess I'm OK. Hypothetical Question...

    Mosti Mondiale MM Port

I'm not familiar with Everclear. Is that grain alcohol? I have a liter of Cognac that I've had for a while. Would that work or do I need the flavor from the peach brandy and the alcohol from the Everclear? James

    Mosti Mondiale MM Port

Started my first port kit last night (MM La Bodega). Any specialtricks for this kit to make it better or at least as good as possible? Also, do you who have done Port before bottle it in 750ml bottles or in smaller bottles? When you open a bottle of Port, does it go "bad" as quickly as wine...

    Wine Volcano

The last time that happened to me it was with a Mosti kit where you add the oak to the carboy during secondary ferm. It vomited every bit of the oak out on the table. What a mess!
