My wife prefers the Key lime/lemon skeeter pee to the Cherry version. She likes cherry limeade so that was my goal. However, she is happy with the lime so "if it ain't broke don't fix it."
I had a batch of Skeeter Pee that I made with 32 oz Key lime juice and 64 oz lemon juice. I added 32 oz Knudsen Just black cherry to a gallon jug and topped up with unsweeted SP. SG should be 1.016 but I haven't checked yet. It is really dark. The rest of the batch got regular back...
I'm wanting to make a niagara/concord. I was wondering if you went 50/50. I'll probably go lighter on the concord. I want more of a blush. I've made the niagara and it is great. Thanks for the info.
I use nutrient and energizer. I start mine with no juice and then add them after fermentation is well under way. A bottle at a time. I try to have the last one added before my gravity drops below 1.030. That way the pee gets one last whisk before it goes under the airlock. My latest batch...
Kampo, I was reading your thread at HBT and searching here found you again. I'm thinking of doing the same thing. However, it would be even better to soak the orange zest in Tequila. Did you end up making this?
Did you decarb before checking the gravity of your Mike's? If it wasn't still then the CO2 coming out of solution would have pushed the hydrometer up making it read higher.
I started a poll over at HBT and got nothing but sarcasm. How do you drink your pee, carbonated or still? Please vote in the poll and post what you chose and what specific gravity you back sweeten to. Also, if you carbonate please let us know the volumes of CO2 that you prefer. Hopefully...
It does. It was my 1st batch I stabilized it and sweetened to 1.000. When I added the top up and wine syrup I stirred again with my drill and got more co2 and the foamy layer mixed in and settled to the bottom. I'm going to let it clarify for a couple weeks before I bottle.
I just finished doing this. It took three and a half bottles. I had a little less than 6 gallons because of the bananas in primary and that I've transferred twice now.
I totally agree about topping up with water. I don't ever do that. This is only my 3rd wine kit. I've been brewing...
