    How long do you?

    Let your wine juice sit in carboys before bottling.?.. I have 2 carboys of juice from the juice buckets, do you bulk age just like juice from grapes or do you bottle sooner. Both carboys are reds.. Malbec and cab/ merlot blend.. What's the earliest you would bottle these? Thks

    Other Cab/ merlot blend and chilean malbec!

    Went into the carboy's today!.. Both smelled nice like cherry candy and the cab/ merlot blend smell's like raspberry pie..:))..so far so good!

    Egg smell

    Getting a little egg smell from juice buckets!, 3rd day of fermenting, it's fermenting away nice,, when I stir it up the smell is faint not strong but still a sulphur smell is this normal with these juice pails?..

    Juice buckets

    Can you just ferment the juice in a carboy?.. What I'm asking is I have 2 buckets that I just got can I transfer the juice in my carboy and put a airlock on it and do the primary in the carboy instead of the pails?

    favorite chilean bucket?

    what was your favorite chilean red n white juice bucket?..I have to do juice buckets in the spring,, im looking at carminere,, malbec,, maybe the cab/merlot blend< sounds good,, and a pino grigio white?..i know the reds are thin and the whites taste better but what was your best no grapes added...

    besides the grapes ,, i want to do a few juice buckets, now the choice's i have are santa clara, collina del sol,, festa brand,, im looking for a half decent cabernet sauv, zin, merlot buckets which of these brands has good juice?..thk u..:ib

    bottled last week, taiste very good, smooth, not to dry but not sweet either, fruity, silky , good legs,, entered it in the topsfield fair , going to make a red blend this sept> zin/cabernet/merlot..all lodi grapes..:r:r

    trying a new blend..

    just got done crushing the grapes, i did 2 seperate small batch's, 3 lugs of old vine zin and a lug of pia house black mix in each tub, it smells good , brix reading 25, i never used pia brand before but there grapes were awsome very clean no lumber and not a dud in the lugs nice stuff, i also...

    wow grapes will be alot of $$$$$$$$$$

    talked to a few of the grape sellers in the everett ma area, $45-50 for a lug of CV...and for Delta packing, paso robles, $50-60lug, thats expensive no?..man last year i bought some nice lodi grapes for $36 bucks a lug!!:pee:pee:pee:pee

    I am new to the cultured yeast thing, i was a wild yeast natural wine man, im going with a cultured yeast, ive read 20 diff ways to rehydrate a yeast..so here's i go...im doing 4 lugs of grapes >1 cup of 104 degree water , put in 12 1/2 grams of go ferm protect, 10 grams of yeast (d254) wait...

    Im going to make some old vine zin again with a little petit sirah added, in each fermenting tub im going to put 3 lugs of ovz and 1 lug of petit sirah, 144lbs in each, my ??'s are , how much potassium metabisulfite should i add to each tub to stun the yeast off the grapes?..and 24hrs later i...

    M&M Grapes??

    Ok so from what im reading at M&M there wine grapes are in 18lb lugs and are $46-$50 a lug? so thats say almost $100 smackers for a reg 36lb lug? or am i missing something?.it cost me $340.00 bucks per 10 lugs of 36 lbs of grapes of lodi zin..so that would be $1000.00 for 10 36lb lugs from M&M?:s:gb

    zinfandel blending?

    wine aging?

    ok what will be the difference in my wines taste say in 4-5 months from now?, it"s old vine zin, right now its has a little acidy taste, kinda tart, will this smooth out in time..will it get more fruity? its in 6 gallon glass carboys.
