    Thanks for the explanation guys. I totally forgot about how adding the dextrose would increase the volume, duh! Thanks for the tip Brian55, my intent was to make this wine and shelf it for at least a year, hopefully longer. i just need a cheap kit or two to drink to keep me away from it.

    I have followed the instructions for every step, but I am a little confused right now. It just finished chaptalisation and moving on to my first racking. When I remove the grape skins, the liquid level is around 24.5L, an increase of almost 1.5L. Is this due to the juice from the grape skins? My...

    WineXpert Using less water in a kit

    I'm Canadian, so I only think in Litres! A standard batch is 23 litres, and I was thinking about starting with maybe 21 or 22 litres. Not sure how low to go without ruining it.
