    Degas via bulk aging

I've been bulk aging some wine for about a year now and feel ready to bottle. However, though I degassed with a drill some time ago, I am not sure how thorough I really was (hindsight being 20/20). Since I've bulk aged for this long, how much concern should I have for there being residual...

Montepulciano grapes and juice for newbie

Thanks for the fast response! I want to try mlf, and have been reading up on it. Recommendations on yeast, mlb, and oak for Montepulciano? I love Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (or any dry Italian red) but understand that it is sometimes blended with sangiovese. However, I am sure that this batch...

Montepulciano grapes and juice for newbie

I found a place where I will be able to order juice buckets and grapes in central FL. I have only done a handful of kits, some dragon's blood, and some fruit wine but never juice buckets or grapes. I was thinking of getting two six gallon buckets of Montepulciano juice as well as 36 lbs of...

How to disassemble/clean a ferrari bottle filler?

Thanks, joeswine, for the quick response. I'm just kind of surprised that it doesn't seem to be able to disassemble without breaking it! ;-)

How to disassemble/clean a ferrari bottle filler?

I recently got a ferrari bottle filler and have used it only once (bottled 14 gallons with it). Does anyone know how to disassemble it in order to clean it? I tried rinsing it with star san after use, but I was apparently not thorough enough. Thanks in advance for the help!

It just so happens that I have a one gallon just of peach cider from Georgia, and I just got two cans of Vintner's Harvest peach puree. I plan on using these to make three gallons of peach wine, which I haven't done before. Thoughts?

    possible alternative to topping off?

As a beer brewer trying his hand at some winemaking, I've read a number of threads regarding the need to top off kits with like-wine, adding marbles, scaling carboys done, et cetera... However, if the point is to help prevent oxidation in a carboy under an airlock, why not blanket the wine with...

    Dragon Blood in 15 days!!!

I've been brewing beer for years but today is the first time I'm trying my hand at wine. I've read through this and a number of other threads and I'm psyched about my first batch of DB (started today, DDs recipe, except all blackberries onstead of the triple berry). Thank you everybody for...
