After the stage is complete for stabilizing and clearing, the next step in my instructions is racking and clarification. It does not say what temperature to keep the wine at for this stage, I am assuming because the fermentation process is done it can be moved to a cooler location?
Well I did try adding oak and that didn't help, I haven't been making wine long enough to try experimenting as I am still learning. My dad has been doing it for quite some time and his wines have always turned out good until he tried the ones from costco. Maybe once I have a little more...
I bought what was available at the store. I tried the cheaper vino europa kits and I tried the more expensive International series. The riesling was the International series and it was the worse one of them all. I'm sorry if I'm passing judgement on cheaper wine kits but also not knowing that...
Thank you for the responses, I have one more. Should I rack it before I bulk age or should I leave it sitting on the remaining must? Oh and what is dragon blood?
Has anybody had any success with the costco kits? I have made 5 kits and only one tasted good. The Semillon by paklabs was decent. The chardonnay was passable. I also did a double whammy kit of Italians, there was a Multipulciano and something else I can't remember. Then there's the most recent...
Where to start, I make my wine from kits so I am used to aging in the bottle. The kit says minimum 3 months so all I was thinking was doing a 3 month bulk age. Maybe for future batches look at doing a longer term bulk age. Is it worth it to bulk age for only 3 months vs bottle aging? As stated...
Ok, I am going to be bulk aging for the first time. The only reason I am doing this is I need a way to keep myself from drinking the wine before it is ready lol. My question is, on the last step of the kit I am doing, should I rack it one last time then bulk age? I don't want to rack it after...
Hello everyone, I have contacted the manufacturer and was told that I had to purchase the check valve which comes with the o-ring I need, it seems I can't just purchase the seal. I was just hoping somebody here might have one that they could measure for me so I didn't have to spend $50 just to...
I recently purchased a used buon vino super jet. Upon testing it I found out that it wasn't self priming. I took the head of the pump apart and found that the magical O-ring is missing. Does anybody know the dimensions of this O-ring? I'd really hate to buy a new check valve just for a simple...
