    What are the essentials needed in winemaking

    Looking to put together a testing lab on my bench. What are the essentials? I've looked on line for actual kits but with no luck. What do you have to test your wines..

    Who has pruned their vines already?

    Here is a question... What pruning method do you use and any suggestions for what I should do.. Spur pruning or cane pruning? I am growing Cayuga, Cab Franc and Lemburger, I planted one year plants in 2012 so this will be 3rd year. Any suggestions? Methods used?

    Chilean Wine

    I bought Chilian Cab Sav grapes last May in Monroe CT. Still testing the waters so far so good but needs aging. They were expensive for half a box. Debating if I should buy more this May or go with a juice (never tried making wine from a bucket...experiment time)

    this is all great informative stuff..Thank you! I will try a small batch. I racked twice and added some meta. i need to get the ph levels checked.average temperature in my basement is just under 60 degrees and that is where it has been since Oct when it was made.
