I just make my first 5 gal of Skeeter Pee. It turned out ok but not as good as what I was expecting. I did not have a slurry so I had to make a "starter" out of Lemonade. I had heard so much about SP on this forum that I was expecting too much. I think a good aged wine is far better.
I am currently having the same problem. I have been in the primary for about 10 days. Just racked it into a secondary. My SG has gone from 1.070 to 1.010 but now it is quiet. Air lock is not doing anything. Any advice on what I should doat this stage? I don't think it is ever going to go to 1.000.
I just sweetened some strawberry with Smuckers strawberry syrup. It is mainly corn syrup with a lot of strawberry flavor. If you need to sweeten you can improve your flavor and also sweeten your wine.
One thing to consider. I made about 10 gallon of muscadine wine in 2011. I let it age for 12 months and slightly sweetened it before I bottled it. Some of the first bottles that I opened in the fall of 2012 was a little dryer than I wanted them to be. This was one year old wine. by the time that...
