Well I racked it into an extra primary bucket and re tested and it was 0.990. So maybe using the thief I got a different reading. Did some searching and read some similar posts so from now own I'll get a ballpark from the thief and then re-check at racking. Gary

Right .990 - Yes my scale goes down to .982

I made a batch of apple wine from concentrate and after 2nd fermentation I have found that the s.g. is 0.985. The lowest s.g. I see in most posts is 0.90. Is this too low and why do you think this happened? I tasted the wine and it tastes like it has a lot of co2 in it, and it definitely has...
